A different living concept of low-rise apartment proposal.
One Selekoh is a refurbishment proposal to the existing run-down apartments along the stretch at Kenny Hills. Themed to the tropical design approach of the Malaysian climate, the architecture showcases modern living that mimics a getaway living experience - similar to that of a modern homestay or resort. The familiar approach as we had conducted on other remodelling projects sees treatments given to the facade, structural elements, facilities and landscaping to re-portray a modern sleek look of the 5-level building blocks.
Due to the building's orientation that ensures every adjacent unit face the greenery at the rear of Kenny Hills, the building is widely exposed to extreme sunlight and overheating that may discomfort users. Hence, the introduction of features throughout the apartment such as extensive roof overhangs and sliding sunscreen louvers allow dwellers to control the penetration of natural daylight into the living spaces; while the use of natural stones for cladding and feature walls of low thermal capacity provides efficient cooling of spaces, besides enhancing the exterior fabric of the building. In addition, the integration of aluminium screen walls, timber ceilings and stone-finished balconies create classy living units that reflect the modern revival of this apartment.
