Inception proposal.

Located along the 2-storey commercial lots of Jalan Ipoh, LuxEd Scholar's International School occupies the first floor, The open space between the shoplots is utilised to serve as a multipurpose hall for events and relevant programs of the school. In such interesting space design, the classrooms are located in the first floor while existing retail, restaurants, banks and anchor tenants remain undisturbed besides maintaining the public-private zoning approach.

One challenge of proposing an educational space within such busy, vibrant retail zone is the security control of the school. With the operation of the school taking place in the hidden rear and'confined' spaces, the idea of creating a contrast frontage allows it easier for students and visitors to locate - hence the introduction of the dominant facade. As these existing commercial lots are also double-frontaged, an entrance statement is also to be proposed at the rear due to the intention of having drop-off points fro the back of the shop. While that, the interior of the school adopts a sleek yet modern approach, with skylight and sufficient sunshading introduced to bring in natural daylight in dim existing layout of the school.
