Designed and commemorated at the very beginning since Malaya's independence day, Federal Hotel Kuala Lumpur is one of the oldest tenant of the Bukit Bintang district, donning the very dominant yet outdated essence of a brutalist architecture. This proposal undertaken is to redesign the very face of the hotel, by incorporating the modern language of contemporary architecture onto the existing building. Hence, a new faḉade is introduced to showcase the building's adaptive character to a refreshed, modern out-take of today's architecture.

As part of the urban renewal element, the frontage of FH is facing the urban fabric of Jln Bukit Bintang leading to Jln Alor. An important intersection between Jln Alor and Low Yat mall. We have incorporated a new fecalift with the combination of aluminium panels and stone cladding. Giving a sense of luxury look while maintaining some of the classic element which is has the sentimental value of Malaya's independence. As part of the urban renewal's objective to encourage interaction between the retail lots and the visitors, the ground floor retail are opened up to allow visual link and direct access from the street.
