When approached and designed correctly, the beauty of raw materials exhibit timelessness and rusticity. The idea of exploring such materials is conducted on the Colin house remodelling project.
Our client has a great fond in architectural aesthetics, with a much greater interest in architecture that utilises 'raw design'. With freelance photography skills, it is important for us to design spaces that are able to capture the frames of the said beauty. The existing low ceiling height of the house is remodelled by removing the reinforced concrete slab, creating a double volume atrium for skylight. Internal spaces are then being enlivened by the said natural lights and high ceiling space. Building fabric include cement screed flooring, solid timber flooring and powder-coated black aluminium doors and windows.
